A 48-year-old man was struck and died on the spot while cycling to work on the morning of February 16th. The victim, of Sri Lankan origin, according to the news, was struck by a car in the Montelabbate area (Pesaro and Urbino), Italy.

The Accident
The accident occurred around 5:30 a.m. along the Strada Montelabbatese, involving an Audi, driven by a 35-year-old man, which struck the worker who was riding his bicycle to work. There was nothing that could be done for the 48-year-old; paramedics arrived on the scene and attempted to revive him, but all efforts were unsuccessful. The Carabinieri also arrived on the scene to conduct all the necessary checks. The bicycle and car were seized and towed away, and the road was closed to traffic for several hours to allow investigators to carry out the necessary investigations. Only once all the checks had been completed was the area reopened.
